Accessibility Statement

CuraCare is built for older adults and their families. Many of the people who rely on us use screen readers, have low vision, navigate exclusively by keyboard, or are supporting someone who does. We take accessibility as a core product commitment, not a compliance checkbox.

1. Our Commitment

CuraCare targets conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This applies to the website, the Amica AI advisor, and the provider dashboard. We audit each release for accessibility regressions using automated tooling (axe-core) and periodic manual testing with assistive technology.

2. What We Have Done

  • Semantic HTML and ARIA labels across core browsing surfaces (homepage, browse, facility detail, contact).
  • A "skip to main content" link on every page.
  • Color contrast ratios meeting or exceeding AA thresholds.
  • Keyboard-only navigation for core flows (search, browse, tour request, review read/submit).
  • Focus-visible outlines on every interactive element.
  • Text that scales cleanly to 200% without horizontal scrolling.

3. Known Limitations

We believe in honest disclosure. These are the accessibility gaps we are currently working on:

  • Facility photos: A subset of facility photos imported from third-party sources lack alternative text. We are backfilling programmatic descriptions and reviewing them manually.
  • Amica AI chat surface: Screen-reader announcements for streaming assistant responses are improving. Feedback from screen-reader users is especially welcome.
  • Map-based search: Some interactive map controls require mouse input today. A keyboard-equivalent mode is planned.

4. Reporting Accessibility Issues

If you run into an accessibility barrier on CuraCare, please let us know. You will reach a real human who can triage the issue.

  • Include: the URL, what you expected, what happened, and (if comfortable sharing) the assistive technology you use.
  • We aim to acknowledge within two business days and provide a fix or timeline within ten business days.

5. Alternative Contact

If you cannot use the site to take an action you need (e.g., requesting a tour, submitting a review), email help@curacare.us with what you are trying to do and we will complete it on your behalf. This is a permanent commitment, not a workaround — our goal is that it rarely needs to be used.
